Preparing for the Visit
Once you’ve signed up with Wildanet, we might need to conduct a site survey to confirm the best route for connection. Then we’ll be in touch to confirm your installation date/time for the engineer visit. Make sure someone over 18 will be available to provide access, and choose a location for your router: ideally central, with power supply, good airflow, and minimal obstacles.
To help the process, try to clear access for any cable routing (e.g. space where internal cabling or external equipment might be fitted).
Engineer Arrival & Equipment Setup
On the day, the Wildanet engineer will:
- Bring the necessary core hardware: this could include the router, any terminals or external points if required.
- If you have ordered Phoneline+ (VoIP) or WiFi Boosters (Mesh WiFI), these will be shipped to you separately with information on how you can set this up, you can find useful information on our Customer Hub, if you need any further assistance don’t hesitate to contact us.

Permissions & Property Work
There may be a requirement to run cables from outside to inside, or through internal walls. Before doing that, the engineer should get your agreement. If you’re renting or in a managed building, you’ll need to gain permission from the landlord or building management first and send us any supportive information to [email protected].
Testing & Go-Live
Once everything is connected, the engineer will test the internet connection is up and running smoothly. They’ll help you set up the Nokia App which is the best way to manage your home WiFi. The App has many features ranging from parental controls through to mesh WiFi management as well as useful troubleshooting tips.
After Installation
Following installation, the engineer will show you where the WiFi network name (SSID) and password is (usually on the bottom of the router). They’ll give you information on how to contact support. If you have any further queries or concerns, the installation section of the Customer Hub is the best place to find answers, or by contacting our team directly.
Tips for a Smooth Installation
- Decide in advance where you want your router and boosters so you’re happy with placement.
- Keep pets / children safe while installation is underway.
- If you’re porting over a phone number via Phoneline+ you’ll need to make sure you’ve filled out all relevant paperwork to make the transition as smooth as possible.
