How to Improve Broadband Speed in Rural Areas
30 April 2026
Swap the commute for the coast path. With Wildanet’s ultrafast full fibre internet, your home office can be anywhere
Most broadband is built for downloading. That’s fine for streaming, but home workers spend their day sending as much as they receive: video calls, shared documents, cloud backups and large files heading to clients.
With Wildanet Symmetrical broadband, your upload speed matches your download speed, at up to 2Gbps in both directions. It’s the first service of its kind in Cornwall, and it’s made for the way you work.
If you’re employed and working from home, a home broadband package is usually all you need. But if you run your own business, have staff, or need extras like business phone packages, our business broadband might be the better fit.

For most home workers, it’s upload speed that makes the difference. If you regularly share large files or work with video, photos or design software, a Symmetrical package gives you the same fast speed in both directions, so you’re never waiting on an upload.
Absolutely, and we recommend it for important calls. A wired ethernet connection is the most stable option available.

If you work from home alone and mainly need a fast, reliable connection, a home package is usually ideal. If your business depends on being online, business broadband may be the better choice. We’re happy to help you decide, with no hard sell.
