Wildanet supports Young & Talented Cornwall’s 20th Anniversary Awards

Wildanet was delighted to support Young & Talented Cornwall’s 20th Anniversary Awards, held on Monday 17 November in Truro, celebrating two decades of helping Cornwall’s most exceptional young people achieve their ambitions.

Supporters, award partners and guests gathered in the Hall for Cornwall to recognise the inspirational achievements of outstanding young people from across the county.

Young & Talented Cornwall (Y&TC) provides vital financial support to gifted young individuals in fields ranging from science and technology to sport, art, performance and enterprise. Since 2005, it has awarded over £600,000 to more than 450 exceptionally talented individuals, helping to break down the financial, social and physical barriers often faced by Cornwall’s gifted youngsters.

This year’s anniversary event brought together grant recipients past and present, showcasing a remarkable breadth of talent and determination. Guests heard powerful stories of young people whose achievements have been made possible through the support of Y&TC and its wider network.

Wildanet’s backing for Y&TC includes support for the Young STEM Innovators Award, part of the Y&TC programme aimed at inspiring and supporting the next generation of engineers, scientists, digital creators and technology innovators emerging from Cornwall.

Speaking after the event, Julie-Anne Sunderland, Wildanet Chief People Officer, said: “It was an honour to represent Wildanet at the 20th anniversary celebrations and to meet some of the extraordinary young people who have benefited from Young & Talented Cornwall. We are proud to support the programme – and in particular the STEM aspects of this – and to be contributing to the development of the next generation of inspirational Cornish talent.”
