Refurbishing and Redistributing Digital Devices to Those in Need

  • Does your organisation have unused computer equipment going spare?
  • Want to get rid of it, but worried about data security and costs involved?
  • Want to ensure it’s disposed of in a sustainable and environmentally-friendly way?

Wildanet is on a mission to collect 2,400 unwanted devices from organisations across Cornwall and Devon and get them into the hands of those who are unable to afford their own devices.

When you donate your unused devices to KIT|24, we’ll securely wipe all data stored on them, re-furbish them and re-distribute them to those in need with help from our friends at Good Things Foundation and Reconome

Plus, it’s completely free of charge.

If you have unused devices lying around,
we want to hear from you!

Together, we’re changing the rules of the game so that all businesses have to balance profit and purpose.

Together, we’re building a movement of people using business as a force for good.

Together, we won’t stop until all business is a force for good.

Why donate your unused
devices to KIT|24?

It’s FREE and easy

Disposal of digital tech is governed by The Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013. Securely disposing of unused tech can be complex, challenging and costly. (www.hse.gov.uk/waste/waste-electrical.htm).

Donating your unused devices to KIT|24 is completely free of charge.

Your devices will be re-homed

Your donation will make a huge difference to someone’s life.

1 in 4 young people in the UK (16- to 25-year-olds) lack access to a laptop, tablet or Chromebook at home and an estimated 5.8 million people will still be digitally excluded in the UK by 2032 without further intervention*

By donating your unwanted devices to KIT|24, you’re helping us to give devices to those people who cannot afford their own and helping us to bridge the digital divide.

It’s secure and compliant with GDPR

We know that data security is of the upmost importance when disposing of your organisation’s old IT equipment. That’s why we’ve partnered with leading experts Reconome who use industry-leading data wiping technology and software accredited by the UK National Cyber Security Centre using the Ministry of Defence standard.

All data on your devices will be completely wiped and destroyed with no data retained after the process is complete.

Reconome are also fully GDPR compliant, which means you are too.

For every device donation, you will receive a full reconciliation report of assets received and a certificate of data erasure and destruction for your records.

It’s good for the environment and supports your organisation’s environmental and sustainability goals

The UK is the 2nd largest emitter of electronic waste per capita in the world*.

Only 17% of e-waste is properly collected and recycled. The rest ends up in landfill or is processed informally, posing a serious threat to the environment and human health**.

Re-homing your organisation’s unused IT equipment makes a true positive impact on our environment – preventing new emissions from entering the atmosphere, helping to keep toxic materials out of the ground, tackling the linear economy and supporting the circular economy.

How do your unused devices get into the hands of those who need them?

Device donations are distributed across Good Things Foundation’s Digital Inclusion Network. The Network is made up of thousands of organisations helping people in their own local communities to get affordable and safe access to the internet.

Once donated, devices are securely refurbished and sent to the Network. From there, they are given to people who can’t afford or access their own, meaning they can get online and connect with jobs, training, friends & family and essential everyday services.

Are you a charity that would benefit from receiving refurbished devices?

Good Things Foundation’s National Digital Inclusion Network is made up of thousands of organisations helping people in their own local communities to get affordable and safe access to the internet.

The Network is free and open to any organisation that wants to (or is already delivering digital support for people). To find out more and add your organisation to the Network, click here.
